Discord Nitro as a gift: a gift link without logging into the account

What a Discord Nitro gift link is

A gift is a link of the form discord.gift/code that contains a paid Nitro or Nitro Basic subscription for a month or a year. Whoever opens the link in the Discord app and presses "Accept" gets the subscription on their account. Discord came up with this format for gifting Nitro to friends, but for a buyer whose direct payment is declined it matters for another reason: it is the only way to get Nitro without handing over any account details to anyone at all.

With setup on your account, the manager logs into your Discord with your login, password and two-factor code, connects the subscription and logs out; after that you change your password. The scheme works, we use it, but it requires trust and half an hour of time. With a gift there is none of this: you give your username, pay, receive the link in the chat and activate it yourself. Access to the account stays with you alone, and none of Discord's services learns that the subscription was not bought directly — to Discord it is an ordinary gift from another user.

The contents of the subscription are the same with either method. Nitro from a gift is the same Nitro: boost slots, large files, HD streams, animated profile. Only the delivery path and timing differ: the link arrives 5–30 minutes after payment, while setup on an account takes 15–30 minutes.

Which plan to choose: Basic or full Nitro

• Nitro Basic — your own emoji and stickers on any server, files up to 50 MB instead of 10, a subscriber badge in your profile and a colored badge. For those who chat a lot and are tired of the restriction on emoji from other servers. Basic has no boosts, and streams stay in standard quality. Issued for a month only.
• Nitro — everything from Basic plus files up to 500 MB, HD streams with a high frame rate, two server boosts included, an animated avatar, banner and profile themes, access to advanced features like a custom tag and longer messages. Issued for a month and for a year.

Full Nitro is taken for the boosts and streams. Two boosts raise a server to the first level: better audio in voice channels, more emoji slots, an animated icon, stream quality for all members. If you have your own server or stream games to friends, Basic will not do — it has neither. If you only need emoji and larger files, there is no reason to overpay for full Nitro.

Yearly Nitro comes out noticeably cheaper per month than monthly: the table above shows the difference as of today. It also frees you from monthly renewals — the subscription simply lives for a year. The one limitation of a yearly gift: it can be activated on an account where Nitro is not currently paid for, otherwise the link will not be accepted — more on this below.

How to activate a gift link

1. Open the Discord app on your computer or phone and log in to the account that needs the subscription. The web version will also work.
2. Paste the link from the chat into any channel of yours or into direct messages to yourself, or simply open it in a browser — Discord will offer to switch to the app.
3. A gift card appears with the plan name and term. Press "Accept." If Discord asks you to confirm your region or add a payment method for future renewals, this is a standard step: the gift activates without a card anyway; auto-renewal simply stays off.
4. Check the subscription: User Settings → Nitro. The plan and end date are visible there. Tell the manager it worked — the order is closed after your confirmation.

The term counts from the moment of activation, not purchase, so the link does not have to be opened right away. But it is not worth putting off for long either: the guarantee on an unactivated link is valid for a limited time; details in the guarantee section.

Why the link is "not accepted"

The most frequent reasons for Discord's refusal are listed below. Almost all are solved in a couple of minutes, and in none of them is the link lost.

• Nitro of the same plan is already active on the account. Discord does not add gift terms to a running subscription: while the current Nitro is paid for, the gift will not apply. Wait for it to end — the link goes nowhere — or activate it on another account. If Basic is active and the gift is full Nitro, Discord will offer to upgrade to the higher plan; the other way around does not work.
• The region of the account or of the linked payment method does not match the gift's region. Discord matches the gift's country with the account's country. If a card is linked to the account or there was a payment from another region before, a message appears saying the gift is not available in your country. In this case, removing the saved payment method in the billing settings helps, and if that did not help, we replace the link or set up the subscription on your account at no extra charge.
• The link has already been used. A gift is single-use: whoever pressed "Accept" first got the subscription. If you sent the link to a shared channel or forwarded it to someone, check whether another person activated it. This is exactly why we send the link only to a private chat with you.
• The link was opened in the wrong account. One account may be logged in in the browser, another in the app. The gift card shows the recipient's username — check it before pressing.
• The account is new or has no verified phone. Discord sometimes requires phone verification before accepting gifts on fresh accounts. Verify the phone in the settings and open the link again.

If the reason is not obvious, send the manager a screenshot of Discord's message — he will say what to do or replace the link.

What about boosts

In full Nitro, two server boosts are included in the subscription, and they become available to you right after the gift is activated. They can be assigned to any server you are a member of: User Settings → Nitro → "Server Boosts" → choose a server. Boosts can be moved from one server to another, but no more than once a week for each boost.

When the subscription ends and is not renewed, the boosts are withdrawn, and the server loses its level if other members' boosts are not enough. That is why yearly Nitro is more convenient for your own server: the level holds without breaks. Nitro does not give additional boosts beyond two — they are bought separately, and there is no such item in our catalog yet; if you need to raise a server to the second or third level, message the manager and he will quote it on request.

Nitro Basic has no boosts at all. This is the main reason to pay extra for the full plan if the server is yours.

Can I gift it to a friend

Yes, and this is the simplest way to gift Nitro to someone whose own payment does not go through. You pay for the gift, receive the link and forward it to your friend in any messenger or in Discord itself. They press "Accept" — the subscription lands on their account. Your account is not involved in the process, and you do not need to know your friend's password.

A couple of things worth keeping in mind:

• The link is single-use, so send it privately, not to a group chat.
• The recipient must not have active Nitro of the same plan, otherwise they will not be able to accept the gift until their subscription ends.
• If your friend lives in another country, let the manager know in advance: the gift's region is matched to the region of the recipient's account.

If you want the gift to arrive on a specific day, say so — the link can be received in advance and sent on the right date; the subscription term will run from the moment of activation.

Gift versus setup on an account: which to choose

For most buyers the answer is the gift. It is faster, does not require handing over a password, and is suitable as a present. Setup on an account remains for cases when the gift is not accepted because of the region and the payment method cannot be removed, or when the account has a strict country binding that Discord does not let a gift get around. The manager will tell you which method will work if you describe the situation: whether a card is linked to the account, whether Nitro was paid for before, which country the account is from.

How to order

1. Message @timurjob1 — most conveniently via the button above; the text about the gift fills in by itself. Specify the plan (Basic or Nitro), the term and the recipient's username.
2. Pay in cryptocurrency (USDT). The manager confirms receipt in the chat.
3. Within 5–30 minutes the link arrives in the same chat. Activate it following the instructions above and write that the subscription is in place.

Renewal is the same order closer to the end of the term. Since Discord does not add terms together, the new link is activated after the current subscription ends; the date is visible in the Nitro settings.

Honestly about risks and the guarantee

Nitro from a gift is no different from one paid for directly, and Discord itself does not distinguish such subscriptions from gifts between users. The method has one risk: the link may not be accepted because of the region or an already active subscription — and both cases are covered above; in neither is money lost.

The guarantee works like this:

• If the link does not activate for a reason outside your control — we replace it or set up the subscription on your account at no extra charge.
• If Nitro drops off during the paid term — we restore or replace it. The exception is a ban on the account itself by Discord's decision for violating the platform's rules: that process is unrelated to the subscription and out of our hands.
• Before the link is issued, the refund is in full. After activation there is no refund, because the subscription is already on the account and cannot be revoked — replacement under the guarantee applies instead.
• An unactivated link is best used within a few days: the lifetime of gift links is set by Discord, and once it expires we will not be able to replace it free of charge.
